Dear SIGNIS ASIA friends,
As the main representative organisation of SIGNIS CAMBODIA, the Catholic Social Communication project of the three Ecclesiastical Jurisdictions is ready to host the SAA 2008. In union with other communication centers of the Church in this country such as the Don Bosco Social Communication Section of Sihanoukville, Caritas Cambodia Communications Office, Jesuit Communications and others, we are willing to accept this challenge. We are sure it will be a turning point for our local Church in the need of making the best use of communication resources and new technologies for the work of evangelization.
In the name of Mgr. Emile Destombes, Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh and head of the Communications Committee of the Episcopal Conference of Cambodia, Mgr. Antonysamy Susairaj, Apostolic Prefect of the Kompoing Cham Prefecture and Mgr. Kike Figaredo, Apostolic Prefect of the Battambang Prefecure, we extend a warm welcome to each of you.
To host the Signis Asia Assembly 2008 in Cambodia will be a good occasion for those involved in Social Communications in the local Church to learn from you in various important aspects of the world of communications. We thank all of you for having considered our country as the venue of this great event.
Yours sincerly,
Ly Sovanna, Coordinator SAA 2008
Fr. Omer Giraldo, mxy
